Which MedjetAssist memberships are available for Canadians?

There are two tiers of Medjet memberships: MedjetAssist and MedjetHorizon. Canadians can get all of the Medjet membership plans, except the MedjetAssist Domestic Membership, which is only available to US residents.

Plans are available for individuals, groups, students (the collegiate plans), and businesses (the corporate plans).  Most memberships are only available to those 74 and under, though the Diamond membership is for those aged 75 to 84.

You can get any of the membership options below with MedjetHorizon, as well as MedjetAssist.

Personal plans offer these options:

Regular Annual Membership covers residents of the United States, Canada and Mexico who travel domestically and internationally for up to 90 consecutive days per trip. Domestic travel is unlimited when more than 150 miles from home. The cost for an Annual Membership starts at $315 with MedjetAssist.

Expatriate Membership is similar to a regular membership, but allows travel for extended periods in other countries. Fees are based on the amount of uninterrupted time spent outside of the United States, Canada or Mexico. There are two tiers: Expat180, which covers up to 180 consecutive days and is $465 for individuals, and Expat365, which covers up to 365 consecutive days and is $695 for individuals.

Diamond Annual Membership is a special membership for seniors aged 75 to 84 who are in good health. This membership covers international trips that are less than 90 consecutive days and unlimited domestic travel when more than 150 miles from home. Diamond members are limited to one medical transport per membership year. You cannot buy the Diamond Membership online. Please contact MedjetAssist at 1-800-527-7478 to purchase.

Collegiate International Membership is for academic faculty and students attending university or other accredited educational programs outside their home country. The membership for collegiate membership is 365 days and allows travel up to 20 consecutive weeks per individual trip outside of the home country. An individual membership is $315.

Short-Term Membership is offered in 8, 15, 21 and 30-day increments. If hospitalised more than 150 miles from home, Medjet will arrange air medical transport to a chosen home hospital for inpatient care. The cost for an 8-day individual policy is $99.00.

Motorcycle Membership is effective anywhere in the U.S., Canada or Mexico. It can be added to any existing Medjet membership for an additional fee. It provides the return of the members’ motorcycles in the event of an accident. It is $35 per motorcycle, per year.
